Meet the Editor
Mikaela Hewitt is a lifelong lover of reading and storytelling. She has enjoyed writing since grade school, staring with simple picture books for friends and family. She has written several short stories for a local country paper and publishes regularly in her blog, Thrive in ‘Stead, about all manner of life related to the discovery of Creation, cultivating Community, and learning old-fashioned common sense. She is also on a journey to getting her own work published.
In 2026, Mikaela left a 10 year career in the equine industry to pursue freelance editing and is a Silver Member of The Christian PEN, with whom she is gaining continuing education and expertise. She looks forward to helping her clients achieve their writing goals, just as her instructors and mentors have helped her. She writes and edits from rural Colorado and is always on the lookout for a good story, whether it be in book or on screen.
In her spare time, Mikaela enjoys pursuing farming and homesteading, taking care of her herd of horses, cows, chickens, cats, and a dog. She loves quiet walks, learning new skills, and a good cup of tea. She hopes her work reflects the Truth of her Savior, who is the ultimate Storyteller.
