Editing Services
Manuscript Critique
A Manuscript Critique provides an overall assessment of your work, highlighting strengths and weaknesses. You will receive helpful guidance to improve your writing techniques, especially in regard to character development/consistency, plot, POV, story setting, and more. Think of it as a guide for a DIY Developmental Edit or a detailed roadmap for self-revisions.

Depending on the stage your book is in, we provide a variety of editing services to suit your needs.
Copyediting
Dive deeper into your manuscript after a Developmental Edit has been completed. As in the Developmental Edit, I am looking for clarity and flow, but now on a line-by-line basis. I see how each sentence contributes to the greater paragraph, leading to the next, all in a consistent point of view. I also check for proper punctuation and grammar.
Rate - $0.0065/word
I use The Chicago Manual of Style, Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, and The Christian Writer’s Manual of Style.
All edits are completed using MS Word using Track Changes.
In submitting a document for editing, please use Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, double-spaced lines, and 1” margins.
Important: I do not edit horror, the occult, or sexuality. I edit books with a Christian worldview. I also do not edit writing generated by AI.
Developmental Editing
After your book is complete, I read your manuscript and give you feedback specifically on plot, characters, sequencing, inconsistencies, and how to maximize your story’s potential. In a work of non-fiction, the focus is on how thoughts, ideas, and concepts contribute to the main trajectory of you work. My goal is to enhance and refine your writing.

Proofreading
This is a simple manuscript edit focused on fixing only grammatical, punctuation, spelling, and formatting errors. Proofreading should be performed after Developmental and Copyediting have been completed.
